| Working experience and occupation | Mr. Tan Jin Yik graduated from Brunel University, Uxbridge, United Kingdom, with a Master of Digital Systems (MSc) in 1991. He also obtained his Diploma in Electronic Engineering from Tunku Abdul Rahman College in 1990. Mr. Tan Jin Yik began his career at Applied Business System Sdn. Bhd. as a Marketing Support Executive in 1992. He left in 1994 to join TechnoPeople Sdn. Bhd. as a Sales Engineer, where he was responsible for pre-sale support and assisting the sales personnel with design, cost analysis, project tendering, and specifications. In 1997, he left to join NTT MSC Sdn. Bhd. as the IT Manager in Customer Service Department, his primary task was managing a team of engineers in ICT project implementation and service delivery. NTT MSC Sdn. Bhd. is the first foreign company from Japan to receive the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) status in Malaysia. As the premier employee of the multi-national company, he also advised the senior management and marketing department on procurement, vendor contacts and business operation in Malaysia. In 2000, he proceed with his Japanese multinational corporation experience in KDDI Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and was subsequently promoted to Senior Sales Manager in 2002. As the Head of Sales Department, he was involved in leading his team in the area of technology initiatives, consulting, proposal & business development, quality assurance areas including expertise in project management, documentation and process improvement. In 2008, he left KDDI Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. to pursue his personal interest. In 2014, he rejoined KDDI Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. as an advisor, supporting the Managing Director in navigating complex decisions, aligning strategies with organizational objectives to sustain a competitive advantage. His role primarily focused on Strategic Planning & Market Positioning, as well as Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration until he left the company in 2019. |
